Infant Program Overview
At Natural Wonders Early Learning Center, our Infant Program is thoughtfully designed to support the individual needs of children ages 6 weeks to 16 months in a warm, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate environment. We recognize that the first year of life is full of rapid growth and change, so our infant program is uniquely structured into three developmental stages to better meet each child where they are:
-
Nursery - for non-mobile infants who need a quiet, cozy environment focused on bonding, feeding, and sensory development.
-
Infants - for crawlers who are beginning to explore their environment and engage in more interactive play and gross motor development.
-
Transitions - for new walkers preparing for toddlerhood, with an emphasis on balance, coordination, early communication, and self-help skills.
We follow an on-demand schedule for feeding and napping to ensure each infant's individual needs are met with care and consistency. Feeding times are based on each child's unique rhythm, and naps occur as needed rather than on a set schedule, allowing infants to rest when they are naturally tired.
To support nursing mothers, we offer a private and comfortable breastfeeding area, promoting bonding and a smooth transition between home and care.
In addition to daily indoor learning activities and sensory experiences, we are proud to provide regular nature-based outdoor opportunities. Infants enjoy mat play in shaded grassy areas, stroller rides, and gentle nature walks around our center grounds. These experiences promote fresh air, natural curiosity, and early sensory development in a peaceful and stimulating setting.
Through consistent routines, loving caregivers, and a nature-rich environment, our Infant Program lays a strong foundation for healthy emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
